EC Number 1.21.99.M1 -- trichloroethene reductive dehalogenase
Enzyme Commission Synonyms tceA (gene name)

Enzyme Commission Summary

The enzyme is one of two membrane-bound, reductive dehalogenases that constitute a pathway for the complete dechlorination of tetrachloroethene (perchloroethylene, PCE) to ethene in 195. When titanium(III) citrate and methyl viologen were used as reductants, the enzyme dechlorinated trichloroethene, cis-1,2-dichloroethene, and 1,1,-dichloroethene at similar rates.
